An inspring day…

Posted 17th September 2013

My head is still buzzing and I am feeling a renewed sense of motivation after the fantastic 2013 BizMums Conference and Awards that took place on Saturday.

Held at The Lord Hill in Shrewsbury, the day consisted of a series of inspiring and interesting speakers, a networking lunch, a collection of exhibitors and advisors, alongside several informal breaks to network. And of course the all important awards presentation.

The day was so much more than I had imagined, taking away with me a series of valuable ‘learns’ and positive emotions.

Not a mum myself, I was honoured to be asked to sponsor the ‘Creative Mum’ Award and spent the day inspired by the company, soaking up some valuable tips and experience of balancing family life and work, storing it all away for when I am one day blessed with a family of my own.

Spending the day with positive people was uplifting! Interesting speakers during the day sparked of an action list of ‘to do’s’ and using my 20 second pitch wisely to ask for advice about launching my new products resulted in some interesting new contacts.

And it pays to be eager! Winning Louise Presley-Turners book ‘Finding a Future that Fits’ for being quick off the mark was the perfect accompaniment to my new found motivation!

And the main feature of the day, the award ceremony, was incredibly heart warming! Sitting on a table with two of the winners, I could see just how much it meant to them. Huge congratulations to all of the winners and the nominees!

And for those of you who were wondering, the winners were…

Thanks Michelle and all of those involved in organising such an inspiring event!

There was far too much to mention about all the learns I took away from the day, I have had to cut down this blog several times to make it somewhat readable in my excitement…

I would love to know what you all took away from the day if you were there? Feel free to introduce yourself and keep in touch and I look forward to meeting many of you again very soon!

Thanks Ladies! : )
